Care to Have a Seat?

One of the most fun parts of being a welder is that there is always a new project. You never know who will walk into the shop, or what innovative ideas they will have! This summer has been no different. Of course we had railing projects, but this is really the summer of things to sit on. Let me show you what I mean:

We started off with a porch swing. But not just any porch swing, this was formerly known as a Breckinridge ski lift chair! So much fun to help the family get it adjusted, powder coated, and hung up for use in their peaceful backyard.

Next came a custom patio set. We collaborated with one of our favorite small business owners (Rustic by Nature Co.) to create a bench and two chairs for a repeat customer’s beautiful patio. We cut her desired pattern for the backs with the CNC plasma cutter, and Rustic by Nature Co. poured the concrete seats.

Most recently we had the honor of creating a memorial bench for Gleda Estes, co-founder of Estes Industries and an icon in the field of rocketry. Gleda’s family (pictured above) liked her bench so much that they ordered a second one! One of those benches is bound for downtown Canon City, while the other will reside in their headquarters building.

Here at Way Welding & Fabrication, we specialize in custom indoor and outdoor railings and we are here for all your other steel needs too!
